She Don Did It is GIRL GRIND UK’s award-winning music business programme, continuing its legacy as the flagship initiative of the organization. Proudly funded by Youth Music Charity and delivered in collaboration with B:Music, Symphony Hall, and BIMM Birmingham, this programme is dedicated to amplifying the voices of women in music, particularly those often overlooked due to their identity and background.

 

In its third year, She Don Did It introduced four dynamic courses, including a brand-new offering, all led by industry experts:

Music Business with Ameena Badley

Live Events with Vanessa Sinclair

Songwriting and Performance with Misha B

Radio and DJing with Kaylee Golding

 

Aura Rooms: The Showcase Event

The culmination of this year’s programme was the highly anticipated Aura Rooms showcase event, featuring the main act, the iconic Lady Leshurr. This electrifying performance celebrated the creativity and talent developed throughout the courses, providing participants a platform to shine and share their artistry.

 

Comprehensive Support for Aspiring Artists

She Don Did It provided robust support across various sectors, including songwriting, music business, production, event management, radio, and DJing. Participants gained essential skills, a supportive community, and invaluable resources to propel their music careers forward.

Aura Rooms was a dynamic live event series created by the Live Events Team from GIRL GRIND UK’s award-winning She Don Did It program. She Don Did It is a groundbreaking initiative that amplifies the voices of women in the music industry, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. The program offered comprehensive courses in songwriting and performance, music business, radio and DJing, and live event production.

 

Aura Rooms highlighted the journey of the She Don Did It 2024 participants as they developed their skills and showcased their creative talents. The series provided a platform for emerging artists, musicians, and storytellers to deliver powerful and inspiring performances, fusing music, spoken word, and performance art.

 

The event celebrated diversity and creative expression, becoming a key destination for arts and culture enthusiasts in the West Midlands. Aura Rooms left a lasting impression with its unforgettable moments of innovation, collaboration, and bold artistic expression.
