SHE DON DID IT!: Empowering Women in the Music Industry

She Don Did It is GIRL GRIND UK’s award-winning music business programme, building on its success as the flagship initiative of the organisation. Proudly funded by Youth Music Charity and delivered in collaboration with B:Music, Symphony Hall, and BIMM Birmingham, this initiative is dedicated to amplifying the voices of women in music, especially those often overlooked due to identity and background.

In its inaugural year, She Don Did It explored and tested innovative ideas to provide opportunities for women in the music industry. Year two saw the establishment of new courses that responded dynamically to the evolving demands of the industry. Now, in year three, the programme is back with a bang, offering four comprehensive music business courses, including an exciting new addition: Live Music Events.

The programme offers support in various sectors, including songwriting and performance, music business, music production, event management, radio, DJing, and much more. Whether you’re new to the industry or have some experience, She Don Did It equips participants with essential skills, a supportive community, and invaluable resources to propel their music careers forward.

Inclusivity & Impact

She Don Did It welcomes all women* from the Global Majority community residing or working in the West Midlands region, with a deep passion for the music industry. The programme is committed to addressing the universal concerns of gender equality and visibility in the music industry.

At its core, She Don Did It aims to provide a platform for the unheard voices in the West Midlands music scene—those who have been left out of the conversation because of who they are, what they look like, or where they come from. Together, we are working towards a more inclusive and equitable music industry, amplifying the voices of those often missed.

She Don Did It is for everyone committed to tackling gender equality and visibility in music. This programme is playing its part in making a lasting impact.
