Girl Grind UK founder, Namywa has always wanted to be a mother, but it's always been a pressing issue trying to figure out when is the "right time" to have a child.
Is there ever a right time?
For her and lots of future mums, pressure stems from the pace of the Music Industry, the perception of others and the time needed to balance all those things and still be a successful mother in music.
In the gloom of lock down 2021, Namywa was invited by PRSF to speak on an online panel where she met Mary Leay , Co Founder of Mamas In Music.
Shorty after, Eve Horne founder of We Are The Unheard joined the early stages of the conversation and together three powerhouses, all at different stages in their lives, almost in unison said: IT'S A MOTHER'S WRITE TO!

SONGWRITING CAMP
What's equality without equity?! Research has told us that the best way to empower both established and emerging mother's in music is to empower them financially in order to keep mums in the music indusrty at all levels. Mother's Write is starting with songwriters, our 4 day songwriting camp aims to enable and support mum-songwriters with opportunities, networking and resources to make high quality music in alignment for sync. Backed by SHURE, NEUMANN & QUBE East studios from Tuesday 17th until Friday 20th October Mother's Write will be delivering a 4 day songwriting camp for established and emerging mums in music.
THE LISTENING PARTY & NETWORKING EVENT
Girl Grind UK CIC, Mamas In Music & We Are The Unheard present Mother's Write, the UK's 1st networking event and Songwriting camp aimed at Mothers In Music. We are proudly funded by PRS Foundation and endorsed by Levis to deliver this important work.
The UK Music industry has a big TO DO LIST and at the top of ours is to advocate, champion and rejoice the accomplishments of Mother's in Music.
Join us on Wednesday 1st November 2023 to network, connect and stand up for all kinds of Mother's, in all sectors of the music industry. This event is NOT just for "mums" in music but for everyone and anyone who shares our vision for a more inclusive industry.
